O Homem Verde (or The Green Man) is a holiday yurt and tipi retreat situated within the green forests of the central Portuguese mountains, and while not for the solely adventurous, those with an appreciation of nature and of relatively simple – but very comfortable - living and with a yen to connect and relax, will certainly enjoy our exclusive little boutique retreat.

All creature comforts (and more) are catered for in our luxury glamping campsite.

Our aim is to simply provide a calming, playful and welcoming ambience for all, set in a low impact, sustainable and child friendly environment, where adults and children alike have time and space to experience the good things in life and enjoy themselves and each other.

Our yurt and tipi are very family friendly with more than a hint of adventure that the kids will love, and are certainly an exotic experience for couples and a great space for small groups to gather.

We have lovely river beaches and waterfalls very close by, our surroundings allow plenty of opportunities for adventure and discovery with lots of off the beaten track spots for peace and privacy.

We have some great wildlife too - watchout for the dragonflies and damselflies when you take a dip, and the fireflies in the early summer evenings. Deer and boar can also be spotted, as can eagles, lizards and lots of butterflies to name but a few! For cultural days out, we are in easy striking distance of some stunning heritage sites, as well caves, roman ruins, castles and the old city of Coimbra.

We can also arrange holistic therapy and massage sessions in your yurt with Aoife, who for 12 years, has been professionally practicing a range of treatments including Swedish Massage, Indian Head Massage, Reflexology, Reiki, Aromatherapy Massage and Thai Massage.
