Yurt and Facilities

Staying in a yurt is a magical experience! You can watch the night sky through the circular roof from the comfort of your bed, lulled into a peaceful sleep by the sounds of the night and relish the romantic, almost medieval charm of a circular space, especially with the warm glow of the woodstove in the cooler months!

If you are unfamiliar with a yurt, they are circular domed nomadic Mongolian tents that consist of a wooden lattice-work structure, with a circular roof window in the middle. Ours is beautifully hand painted in traditional patterns and is covered with several layers of material making it a well insulated and cozy space that can be used in all seasons.

Our welcoming and spacious yurt is nearly six meters in diameter and affords a very stylish and comfortable manner in which to experience the great outdoors.

The interior of the yurt has been decorated in a contemporary/ethnic/rustic style (woodland chic we like to think).

Outside the yurt, we have built a covered wooden deck that is situated on the edge of a south facing terrace overlooking the woodland below. Here you can enjoy the sun and plenty of privacy.

Inside the yurt you will find:

• A sofa bed (and extra mattress or cot for baby if needed)
• Clean bedding and towels provided for your stay

• Refrigerator
• Woodstove
• Electricity and lighting

On the yurt deck you will find:

• Table and chairs
• Kitchen utensils, pots and pans, crockery and everything you need to prepare and store your own food and drink
• Twin ring gas stove
• Hammock

The hot water shower and washing facilities, found behind the yurt, are constructed in bush style-private and covered but with open views to the sky and surrounding greenery: a very refreshing jungle washing experience!

At the end of your terrace, nestling under oak trees is a two function eco-compost toilet, large and airy, it has running water and washbasin and is placed to give you a lovely view of the hills opposite!

We are proud that our facilities are low impact and eco-mindful and are built using local timber and recycled materials. They are a clean, functional, stylish and fun way of maintaining a connection with the environment and will certainly add to your experience.

Recycling as well as compost bins are also supplied.
