Casa Família Oliveira Guimarães - In the nearby Village of Espinhal, you can visit the old manor house from the family Oliveira Guimarães. They also hold regular events: exhibitions, concerts and cinema nights. Visits through advance booking only - phone: +351 967695791 or +351 916850849.

Penela castle - In the town of Penela, 15 minutes drive away, you can pick up the free audio guides in the tourism office for a free guided tour of the Castle dating from the XI century.

Germanelo Castle - In the town of Rabaçal, half an hour drive away, you can visit the ruins of the Germanelo Castle on the crown of a hill. This castle was built in the XII century as part of the Coimbra defense system. From the car park, access to the ruin is done through a short but steep path. Views from the top are spectacular.

Roman Villas of Rabaçal and Conímbriga - Two Roman Ruins sites nearby: Conímbriga site features a large collections of original floor mosaics.

The Red Pyramid - The Ecumenical Temple Universalist is a temple for the spiritual reflection of people of different religions, open to non-believers, by promoting basic values of humanity and religions, as Truth, Goodness and Moral. Located in Miranda do Corvo (30 min drive).

Coimbra - For a day in the city visit the fading façades of the University City of Coimbra, steeped in history and colonial charm. Coimbra is a city of manueline architecture, old cathedrals, old cafe bedecked squares and gardens, with narrow and lively cobbled streets winding from the riverfront up to the old university itself. Also a good place to appreciate the Portuguese traditional fado of Coimbra.

Tomar - We are also in easy striking distance of the fascinating city of Tomar, old seat of the Knights Templar.

Almourol Castle - Beyond Tomar, on an islet on the Tagus river, you can find the Almourol Castle. Due to its location and the surrounding landscape, this castle is one of the most emblematic monuments in Portugal. It is about 1 hour from O Homem Verde and 30 min from Tomar.

Monastery of Batalha - A magnificent ancient monastery 1h10min drive away.

Fátima - The atmospheric pilgrimage site of Fátima is also within driving distance (just over 1h drive).
